1 week fasting…My Results!

Hello my beautiful blog family! I hope everyone is doing fine. I am feeling so happy today. I got on the scale and I lost 7 pounds! Yes, I accomplished my goal of getting myself back on track!

If you followed me on #Snapchat(nattyhappee), then you were able to see how I looked on day one, and how I looked today! How did I do it?

I alternated smoothies using either Coconut-Alomond milk, Water, Orange Juice, or Chocolate Almond milk. I used various fruits, and had mostly Kale and Spinach for my vegetables. The picture above shows a recipe I had adding Celery and Ginger. Oh but wait, that is not all! Every time I had a smoothie..I also had a cup of tea, and within the hour a 20 ounce bottle of water. That is how I kept my stomach full! A smoothie, a tea, and a water. I had that 3-4 times a day.

So, what am I going to do now that my week is over? Well, I’m not putting any desserts back ino my body that’s for sure! That was the original reason why I did the fast in the first place. I didn’t want a “belly” as a Vegan, and I was tired of being addicted to the dessert cart! (That’s just an expression but you get the point). I plan on doing what I should have been doing in the first place… Fruits, Vegetables, Rice, Beans, etc. Lay all the way low on the breads, off desserts for a while, and entirely NO white sugar! Oh yeah, increase my water intake. ๐Ÿ™‚

So…what do you think? Do you have any thoughts or questions? I will be glad to answer any that you have. I have fitness journeys on my youtube channel(naturaleehappee) in case you are interested in that as well.

I hope this article helped someone. I want all of my Vegans/Vegetarians to know that it is not all roses and rainbows. Some of us do have to monitor ourselves on the regular basis. Just believe that you can change for the better just for you! As long as you wake up to see another day, you can start to change!

Stay healthy, and as usual…I am always Naturalee Happee! ๐Ÿ™‚

One week Fasting!

Hello my beautiful blog family, how is everyone doing? Our snow FINALLY melted and for that, I’m relieved! How many of you have had any relief in your area too?

This week I decided to fast. No, not the water only fast, this is a little more filling…I am doing smoothies, water, and tea only.

Today is actually day two. Most of yesterday can be located on my snapchat under “nattyhappee”.

So I guess the big question is…why am I doing this? ย Well, if you have followed me here or on YouTube(naturaleehappee), then you know I did a juice fast last year. Last year was just a “see if I can” type of mentality. This year is a “kickstart” for my fitness routine.

See, I had gotten a little,(okay a lot) soggy around the middle. It had gotten to a point where I could’nt stand to look at my older fitness pics and videos. Why? Well, the pictures show you what you have achieved, and the mirror shows you where you have been slacking. I knew when I started seeing things I didn’t like in the mirror it was time to do something and QUICK! I REFUSE to be a Vegan with a belly. Blah! Which leads me to today.

I’m not trying to brag, but the good thing about me is that I know how to get my weight ย down. The bad thing is…since I know how to get it off, I get lazy and say “oh, I’ll start after” enter date here.

I understand entirely that if I just didn’t quit in the first place I could be on my way to somebody’s fit competition. Yet, I still fall into “lazy mode”. I can sit here and SAY that I won’t get lazy again, but why would I lie like that? I just have to do things my way and take it one day at a time.

Here is a recipe for my made up smoothie called Green Scream.

1 handful of Spinach & Kale mix

1 Celery

1 Kiwi

2 Bananas

1 Pear (cored)

1 thin slice of Ginger root

1 TBSP. of Flax seeds

1 TBSP. of Chia seeds

I mixed all ingredients in my Ninja Pulse.

As usual…don’t forget to share, share, share…comment and like! Until next time, I am always Naturalee Happee! ๐Ÿ™‚

It’s impossible to eat right in the winter..or is it?

Hello my beautiful blog family! I hope all is well, and everyone is safe and sound in their homes. Did anyone else get this today?

Yea, I was lucky enough that I did not have to go out in this mess! I know that traffic was unbearable (and at a stand still at one point). The grocery stores had long lines of people in panic mode, and I’m just here writing for you. ๐Ÿ™‚

Some people who are not use to Veganism or Vegetarianism will argue you down that you cannot “maintain” your diet in cold weather. I beg to differ! I was Vegetarian for 9 years before I turned Vegan. I was Vegan for 2 years with no messups, and this past year I have been my own label of Vegan/Vegetarian.(I slip on cheese too many times!)Lmbo!

With that being said here my friends, are some ideas for you in the winter months!

There are a wide variety of things you can make such as …

Picture 149Vegetable and Rice,Vegetable and Quinoa, or Spicy hot Chili! You can also make your own hummus using chickpeas. You can make …

Essie Bessie Dip recipe

Your own dip with tortilla chips or pita bread or flat bread. How about…

Veggie tacos or Enchiladas! ย You can make Veggie soups, and stews. You can turn it into your own version of Olive Garden by making soup, salad, and breadsticks!

Don’t forget…

HH-day 8 done

making your own Vegan or non-vegan muffins, cookies, and cakes! If push comes to shove…

There are plenty of Smoothie and Juice recipes to hold you throughout the day until you can make that hot meal in the evening! Most of everything that I have suggested is located in the archives of my blog!

I hope these ideas have helped, or at least got you thinking of a list that you can come up with on your own!

My Review of The Ninja Pulse

Hello my beautiful blog family. How have you been doing doing today? I hope all is well with you.

I want to share with you my experience with my newest piece of equipment. It was a purchase I made about a month ago.

ninja pulse review 1

I love the Ninja Pulse! So you want to know why I love the Ninja pulse? ย Well, for starters I like the fact that it is portable! ย It comes with two cups and two lids so you can take it on the go and not worry about the bulkiness in your lunch bag! I also like the bigger container that was with the package too. On the side it states that it makes great cookie dough. I guess it is a plus for people who make a lot of cookies. One day I will try that and see how I enjoy that process. Last but not least, the cleanup is so easy! The parts are easy to take apart and put back together. I mostly take the portables so I may have less of a cleanup than most.

Yes, you see in the pic that I already had the traditional ninja. It has been my old friend when it came to smoothies and some cooking. It was so big and I yearned for the speed of the traditional Ninja, in a smaller size for one….here it is! If I had to rate it from 1-5..I would DEFINITELY give it five stars!*****

What is YOUR favorite piece of kitchen equipment? I can’t wait to read what you like to use. I hope this post helps anyone who was thinking about purchasing the Ninja Pulse. I would say….GO GET IT!!!

Until next time…I am always Naturalee Happee! ๐Ÿ˜‰

My Review Of The Wild Cow in Nashville!

Hello my beautiful blog family! How have you been doing today? I hope all is well with everyone. I am doing well myself. I have another review for you from “The Vegan Secret Shopper”.

I had the pleasure of visiting The Wild Cow restaraunt a couple of weeks ago. What did I think of the Vegan restaraunt? Well, let me get into the details and I will let you know. The restaurant is located in a nice little strip in east Nashville. There are other little shops in the same strip so you have to keep a look out, or you might just miss the restaurant. The address is 1896 Eastland Ave. in Nashville, TN. You can check out their website at thewildcow.com. The website says Vegetarian Restaurant but Google has Vegan. I was thrilled to find out that they not only serve both Vegan and Vegetarian, but also have gluten-free on the menu too!

So…I liked the parking lot on the side of the Wild Cow, which had plenty of room and was paved. I really didn’t pay attention to any of the sites around because it was a day that I was really hungry! Lol. You’ve had some of those days I’m sure. ๐Ÿ™‚

When I got to the front door, it appeared small on the outside, but this is a mere illusion to what I found on the inside. There was a hostess that greeted us and asked how many to our party. Since it was only two, it was rather easy for us to find a seat. The feel of the restaraunt put me in the mind of those diners you see on television. The not too big, but not too small feeling.

The waitress was super friendly so that was definitely a plus! The people there were …different. I say different because the people who were there when I visited put me in the mind of “free spirits”. I felt completely comfortable as I have to say I am one too. I saw one lady with lots of tatoos, cute ones though, not the “scary” type. Lol. I saw another lady who had green and purple locs in her hair. I was also happy with that as I also have locs. I saw a few guy talking about veganism, and business. Someone else was talking about their kids, and still I heard another bragging about her roommate. Now if I had a complaint (which I don’t), it may be the fact that we were close to the “neighbor” and I could hear the whole conversation. This might be a bit of a distraction for the average Empath, but luckily, the conversation was delightful so it didn’t bother me. *smiles*

When our food arrived I was more than ready to “dig in”! I ordered the Tempeh sandwich that was made sort of like a Philly sandwich.

Wild cow Nashville review

On the side I had chips and Spinach dip. The sandwich came with a dipping sauce. The result? Well…

The sandwich was a 3 to me…but the dip! OMG! That was the BEST vegan Spinach dip I had ever had! It was AAAAAMMMMMAAAZING!! I’m telling you, the dip was so good that I wanted to ask for the recipe! I really had to hold myself not to ask. Lmbo!

The meal was good and my partner in crime loved the spicy choice on the plate too. I can’t remember what it was, and no…I didn’t take a pic. sorry.:(

On my way out I did manage to get dessert, I grabbed one of the lovely looking brownies on the counter.(It was also vegan!) It wasn’t until after I left that I noticed the brownie had come from a local bakery in the area. The brownie I had was a VERY delicious Triple Chocolate Brownie with maple sweetener, and it was HEAVENLY!!! The bakery is called Vegan Vee and is a gluten-free bakery located at 306 46th Ave. North in Nashville,TN. You can visit them on Facebook too just like the Wild Cow.

My experience with BOTH eateries? I give them….. five stars!! ***** I loved them and look forward to visiting again. I already have an idea of what I want to try next! If you are looking for Vegan/Vegetarian and happen to be visiting the awesome state of Tennessee, go to The Wild Cow, and check out Vegan Vee too!

That’s all for now. I hope this post helped someone looking for Vegan hotspots! Until next time….I am always…Naturalee Happee! ๐Ÿ˜‰

2016…The Year To Remember..

Well, hello my beautiful, beautiful blog family!! How was your New Year? ย Was it full of “things-to-do” like mine has been? I would LOVE to hear your comments so leave it and don’t forget to share if you like ANY of my blogs, old and new! My blogs range from recipes, to how-to’s, to random thoughts. Go ahead, check out the archives!

Notice anything different? Yes! I changed my name to match my online store. Same person, just “expanded” now. Lol. My Youtube is still Naturalee Happee but it seems that the name is slowly disappearing. I’m not upset because with age comes change. Am I right?

So you want to know why I have the title as a year to remember? Well, I thought you (ok “we”) would try our best to actually achieve this slogan so to speak. To try our best to think outside of the box, be more open-minded, acknowledge and over come fears..yes, I know you can do it because I have faith in you!

So besides opening my online stores (one at storenvy and one on etsy), I have tried to encorporate more Youtube videos on subjects everyone wants to talk about. Any ideas, feel free to comment! I am STILL trying to make fitness a habit, although this seems to be a never-ending struggle! Also, I have NEVER turned back on my lifestyle of “Veggie for Life”! I won’t lie…I do “straddle the shakey fence” Cheese and Baked goods run after me like a track star! So, I serve some items strictly Vegan, and some items that are probably Vegetarian. No, I don’t go out and BUY eggs, but if I get my most craved items,(carrot cake and dark chocolate) I have no doubt that eggs and yuckiness are in the ingredients. I know, and I am working on this as we speak. On the plus side, I got a new Ninja Pulse and LOVE the fact that I can make smoothies/juices to go! Yessss!

This has got to be the longest blog I’ve written so far, so let me stop it here and say..”Happy New Year” to everyone, comment, like, share…and pin! Until next article…I am STILL Naturalee Happee! ๐Ÿ˜‰
