This week’s cookbook is..
“Quick and Easy Vegan Comfort Food” by: #Alicia C. Simpson. If you read my first post on “the vegan cookbook of the week”, then you know what my “criterias” are for choosing a book to review.
This book has great photographs, but there are only a few and they are in the middle of the book. 😕This was disappointing for me because I need photos alongside of the recipe. Nevertheless, I still found this to be a good cookbook. If you are thinking of “transitioning” to more Vegan meals for your family to enjoy together, I would definitely suggest this book. Just this morning I made this one..
I substituted the all purpose flour for Flaxseed Meal and still enjoyed this recipe. The pancakes were light, fluffy, delicious, healthy, and best of all..VEGAN! 😊
This book is wonderfully written and Ms.Simpson has everything you can think of (Veganized). She has Smoothies, Breakfast & Soups, Main Courses, Side Dishes, Sauces & Dips, and Desserts! Looks good doesn’t it?
Hmmm. I might be making this one tonight! Lmbo! 👌
This book gets 4 stars out of 5.🌟🌟🌟🌟.

“Total Health for you and your family The Vegetarian Way” is a book written by Virginia & Mark Messina, PhD. I purchased this book way back in 2000. It was old even then. Hmmm. I think I found it either at a bookstore, or at Goodwill.(Yes, I am an adult nerd) 😝
Now, I’m not promoting or doing a “review” of this book like I do my other picks. This book does NOT have beautiful photography or all of the “bells & whistles”. What it DOES have is wonderful information not only for you, but for your family, and for the children if you have any. It is a great book to have in your library. See what I mean? Every question you’ve ever had on why consuming meat is not the best thing for your digestive system, all answered right here! Don’t sleep on “old books”. Sometimes, they are better at having information that was presented and shut out way before you were born! Which is exactly why I prefer my books versus kindle. Not throwing shade on those devices, I just like to hold my book in my hands. 😁

This week my vegan cookbook pick is “Everyday Happy Herbivore” by Lindsay S. Nixon.
This book is also wonderfully written, has great low-fat recipes, and great seasonings. Sometimes I still “tweek” it with my own seasonings, but for the most part, the recipes are good “as is”.
So which recipe did I like the most? Actually, I liked too many to name out of this one book alone! This one was one I made recently…
I didn’t add the lemon juice to mine, but everything else was “on point”. It was GOOD!

This week I chose this book to share with you.
“The Vegan Girl’s Guide To Life”, has got to be one of my FAVORITE books! 👌The photography is awesome! (See my blog on what i look for to do a review). I also like the feel of this book. I know it sounds strange, but whatever she used for the cover made it really soft. Seriously, for the first time in a review(and I’ve done tons on my youtube @NaturaleeHappee), I am encouraging you to feel this book! Lol.
Okay, so besides the feel of the book, I also loved the recipes! My very first recipe from this book was this one..
I LOVE 💜 banana bread! As you can see from the picture, I “tweaked” it to my taste. I’m sure you will enjoy this too.
Aaaah, but this book is not like the rest! Not like the others at all. This book is an A-Z book! Yes! The recipes are only part of the book.
I love this book because it helps readers transition ALL aspects of their life into veganism. This lovely author showcases businesses in her book as well as bloggers! You can find everything you need in this one book from foods, to clothes, shoes, cosmetics, soaps, books, and more! 100% VEGAN!!! In the back of the book, everything is categorized for easy Google search.
I literally saw a “glow” on this book when I was first trying veganism! Well, ok. Maybe it was the sun from outside shining in the bookstore window, but still.. I loved it from day 1. 😁

Hello my beautiful blog family! How is everyone doing? Chime in because I really want to know. 😀 I am doing great myself. I’ve decided to “review” a vegan book a week. Congratulations.. you are now a part of this new weekly installment. Thank you for joining me. Thank you for liking, commenting, and sharing! You are awesome!
You might be thinking..ok.what is the criteria for her in choosing which book to review? Here it is…
1. It must be Vegan or Vegetarian ( preferably Vegan).
2.If it’s a cookbook, I MUST have enough pictures along with the recipe so that I can gauge whether or not what I prepare even remotely looks like it is correct!
3. The book must be good! Does it hold my attention? Is it interesting? Does it entice me to want to “try”?
4. The book or video does NOT have to be by someone known “worldwide”. I’ve seen some of the best things produced by the ” local” person or average Jane.
Now that you know what I look for, without further delay…Vegan Yum Yum!
#Vegan Yum Yum has ALL of the qualities that I look for in order to do a review. If any of you have been following me 3 or 4 years ago, or have read(in my archives here), then you remember that this book was used in my very first Vegan Thanksgiving. I made this side dish recipe…
The smudge on the bottom is proof that I have used this recipe for more than just Thanksgiving! Lmbo!
The book in general has wonderful photography, clear instructions, and encourages me to at least ” try” something new before I place judgement. Kudos to Ms. Lauren! 🙌Well done!
